"Thirty-four randomly selected 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students were the first to get a sneak preview of the Amazing Acres Farms -- activities today.

According to the students, today's field trip was not like a typical school field trip. Students played on a giant Straw Mountain, romped around in a huge corn box, and navigated through the giant, 12-acre Indianapolis Colts' Quarterback Andrew Luck Corn Maze.  The Andrew Luck Corn Maze is believed to be the biggest Corn Maze in Indiana, and carved out of corn towering 10-11 feet high.

After navigating through countless paths, the student made it to the 15 foot-tall Corn Bridge, where all you can see is corn in every direction.  The students also learned about agriculture, and displayed problem-solving and team-spirit as they made their way through the towering corn.   At the end of the morning, everyone was smiling, and said they can't wait to come back again.  Special thanks to Nicole Veit in leading the students to victory in a corn maze that can take up to an hour to explore...especially if you make a wrong turn.

The students were interviewed by The Star, which will appear with video on Monday, September 15 in paper, and on the "Neighborhood" multi-media segment via

Tonight, student filmed and interviewed will appear on the afternoon news at 4, and on 21/Alive news tonight at 5 or 6, or both newscasts.

The students learned and experienced what it is like to be filmed for a news story.  They all did a great job explaining what they learned.  The Waterloo Elementary School students are likely to appear again on the 21Alive noon news InSight program on September 19th as well."
