Region 8 is pleased to help promote an international travel opportunity open to students in grades 5-12 for the Summer of 2015. People to People is an organization created by President Eisenhower in 1956 to help promote good will and create opportunities for American students to travel the world and act as ambassadors with foreign dignitaries, businesses, and other students.  Students do not have to be a part of a group from their school, but are combined with other students to form larger groups that are led by experienced and highly trained teachers.  Schools across NE Indiana are encouraged to share this opportunity with their students and parents as it promises to be an amazing experience.  I had the chance to join a group of 28 students in Europe this past summer as they traveled from Paris, to London, to Wales, to Ireland over 19 days.  The experience was fantastic and led to new friendships and personal growth for all involved.
There is an informational meeting on November 2 at IPFW, Walb Student Union, 2101 East Coliseum Blvd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46805. No registration is required for students and parents to attend.
