Good evening Bulldog families!
We hope everyone enjoyed the fair on Thursday and Friday of last week! While our students enjoyed some time away from school, our teachers spent Thursday honing in on the skills and practices that help our students learn, grow, and achieve. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication to our students and their profession!
Congratulations to this week's Portrait of a Baron Students of the Week for demonstrating the wonderful skill of Adaptability! These Bulldogs have shown the ability to go with the flow, respond positively to change, and make the best of unexpected situations. Please join us in congratulating Natalee England, Oakley Wolfe, Tilian Davis, Liam Reynolds, Alaina Clem, Evelyn Rowe, Kinsley Crager, and Ivy Edwards! Great job, Bulldogs!
We have a busy week ahead! On Tuesday, our school will participate in our mandatory Active Intruder Drill, required by state statute. We will begin with a lockout procedure, during which students will remain in their classrooms while normal school activities continue. We will then transition to a lockdown drill, where students will practice relocating to a designated safe space within their classrooms. There will be no scary themes or alarms associated with this drill. This is an important opportunity for our students and staff to practice safety procedures in a calm and supportive environment. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Tuesday evening, our students can participate in the Niles Walton Elementary Cross Country Race at the high school course near the bus garage at 6:00 p.m. The race is open to all MCK students, so let's get out there and help keep the trophy here at MCK!
On Wednesday, Student Council will be selling cookies from 8:25–8:50 a.m. for $1. Also that day, the grade level with the highest percentage of students meeting their Fun Friday goals will earn an extra-recess trip to the YMCA.
Make it a fun night for our MCK family! Join us this Thursday, October 8, at 5:30 PM for our 3rd Annual Color Run! We can’t wait to see everyone come together for an evening of color, laughter, and school spirit!
Make dinner easy with our Chipotle Dine to Donate, also on Thursday! Be sure to follow the ordering details on our fundraiser flyer so your purchase supports MCK.
Every Color Run donation and qualifying Chipotle purchase helps our PTO provide fun experiences and support for our students and teachers. Thank you for helping make it all possible!
Finally, Friday evening marks the beginning of Fall Break! Students will not attend school October 12–16. We hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved break!
It's going to be a busy week, Bulldogs! Let's finish the quarter strong!
Go Bulldogs! 🐾
